TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 
12th International Conference on Artistic Research
Vienna, 07–09 April 2021

Host: mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

 
1. CONFERENCE STRUCTURE
The conference is to be held virtually. Its content will be accessible via a web conferencing platform and video conferencing software (mainly Zoom).

Applications must be filled out and submitted online at www.sar2021vienna.ac.at
by 4 April 2021.
 

2. FEES
The fees for conference participation are:

  • for non-SAR members: € 200
  • for SAR members attached to institutional members of SAR: € 100
    To register in this category, you must use your institutional E-mail address.
     
  • for individual SAR members employed by institutions of higher education, cultural organisations, etc.: € 100
     
  • for non-institutionally affiliated individual SAR members: € 30
    To register in this category, you must be an individual SAR member who is not employed by an arts-related institution.
     
  • for students: € 30
    A copy of your valid ID student card must be provided when registering for the conference.

Both individual and institutional members’ 2021 membership fees must have been paid prior to attending the conference.

Conference fees include access to all conference events.

 

3. PAYMENT
The payment procedure is automatically integrated into the registration process (via Stripe).
Cancellation policy: paid conference fees cannot be refunded.

In general, the following applies to bank transfers: all fees for international transfers must be borne by the participant. The option “No charges for the recipient” must be selected. The participant’s name must be noted.
 

4. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without indicating any reason. The withdrawal period will expire following 14 days beginning on the date of your agreement to this contract. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (by sending an E-mail to this effect to sar2021vienna@mdw.ac.at).To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse you for all payments received from you without undue delay. We carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless it has been explicitly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will incur no fees as a result of such reimbursement.
The right of withdrawal expires as soon as the contracting party has begun executing the contract. In the case of streamed content, this means as soon as a streaming or video conferencing begins and you, as a consumer, are able to access the content. In the case of downloading digital content (for example, PDF documents), the right of withdrawal expires when you begin the download process.

 

5. GRANTING OF RIGHTS
 

In case of active participation (e.g. in the discussion) I hereby grant to mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) an unlimited, unrestricted, transferable license for uses in an original, edited or otherwise modified version (i.e. in conjunction with other works or performances) on all works and performances created or performed during the meeting. In terms of scope, this license is restricted especially to the documentation and information purposes of the University.

 

 

6. GENERAL REMARKS

6.1. In case third parties assert claims for intellectual property rights or similar against mdw for the participation of the Participant in the project, the Participant will hold mdw free of harm and claim.
6.2. In case a stipulation in this agreement should be invalid or ineffective this does not affect the validity of the other stipulations. The invalid or ineffective stipulation is to be replaced by a valid and effective one, coming closest to the goals achieved by the invalid or ineffective stipulation. The same applies to eventual omissions.
6.3. The pertinent agreement governs the contractual relations between the contracting parties completely. All side agreements lose their effect upon the execution of the pertinent agreement.
6.4. Modifications and amendments of this agreement require the written form. This also applies to a waiver from the requirement of the written form. Notifications via email or telefax correspond with the written form.
6.5. Austrian law is to be applied to this agreement under exclusion of the UN-Uniform Law for International Sales.
6.6. Exclusive forum for all disputes under this agreement is Vienna, Innere Stadt.


7. DECLARATION
I agree to these terms and conditions.
I acknowledge that it is planned to take photographs (screenshots) and make video recordings of the conference, and for all of these I grant my consent. The mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna reserves all rights thereto, including all rights to any photos as well as to both reproduce and play back any audio and/or video media that are produced.
